Small but nice, the restaurant in Ums near Fiè allo Sciliar!

The restaurant Umser Mühlele, opened in 2018, lies on a tranquil location on the trail no. 6, from Fie allo Sciliar to the Castle of Presule. You can reach the restaurant also by car or by bus (line 176). With a wonderful view to Fiè or Renon and in a cozy atmosphere, you can enjoy homemade, regional dishes for lunch and for dinner - prepared by the chef.

The "Kritzinger" family open their doors to guests and make them feel at home. Taking time for their visitors and serving their own products is part of the family philosophy. The ambience, which impresses with great attention to detail, as well as the wonderful view of the surroundings, makes it possible to relax and let the thoughts wander over while taking a coffee and a cake, an ice cream or a glass of wine.

Regional foot

As "simple" and familiar as the Umser Mühlele, so natural is its cuisine. The dishes are almost exclusively regional: local meats, home-made bread, fresh vegetables and herbs from the own garden and the exquisite wine cellar gives to the food a very natural touch.

From Fiè to Castle of Presule

Easy hike from Fiè (880 m a.s.l.) along the main road in direction to Bolzano. At the end of the village along the mark No. 6 trough farms and meadows. Cross the brook and follow the marking no. 3. On the right side you find the Umser Mühlele. Follow the road to the crossroad, take the right and continue to Presule. Cross the village and on the right you can find the Medieval Castle of Presule.


Traditional bread

Food from cereals

Bread is a traditional food what is made from ground grain (called flour), water, salt and other ingredients. Bread is the regional staple food. The Kritzinger family bakes their own bread and serves it to their guests.

Herb garden

Diverse colors, flavors and aromas come from the garden of the Umser Mühlele. Their herbs and salads grow in their own garden and complete the regional cuisine. The taste and smell of herbs provides the aroma in the dishes.

  • Open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 16.30 to 22.00.
  • Open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 09.00 to 22.00.
  • The restaurant will be closed in November also on Thursdays!
  • The restaurant will be closed from 08.01.24 to 27.03.24 inclusive!
